The Company

Short history of the Company:

- 1948: Discovery of the first chromite lens close to the village of Androfia in the Andriamena region.
- 1966: Constitution of the COMINA (Compangnie Miniere d’Andriamena). First shareholders: UGINE Company, PECHINEY, COFIMEN, MOKTA, the Societe Francaise de Fonderies et Aciers Electriques (SFAC) and the Malagasy State (20% of the capital).
- 1968: Beginning of mining activity
- 1969: Start of the "laverie" and first shipping of "concentrate" in July (10 800 Tons).
- 1973: Beginning of exploitation of Ankazotaolana
- 1975: Nationalization of COMINA, new name "KRAOMITA MALAGASY"
- 1981: Startup of the dense unit liquor for the production of rock ore
- 1982: First shipping of rock products (5 000 Tons) in February
- 2005: Reopening of the mine of Bemanevika
